I am sitting here thinking about how tired I am and how a good nap would be so great, I decided to take this time to post some more pictures and comments. Currently I have 3 nappers. Big daddy is snoring loudly, which means he is sleeping well. ;) our secret! The big brother and baby sister (Adrian's nickname for her) are sleeping quietly. I have a few minutes to put some thoughts down that have been running through my head for days. So here they are:
Ok, so I am not a great writer but sometimes I feel it is important to express my feelings to my friends and family. This past week we have been blessed by so many people in our lives, helping out when we needed them to (family and friends). There have been some who have taken Adrian in on a whim to watch him as we had to take care of Kayla at the hospital (right after she was born) or when we needed to catch up on some much needed sleep. I want you to know that your friendship means so much to our family and we thank you for that act of kindness. Some of our friends have brought meals into our home to feed us as we are trying to figure out this "infant" parenting adventure. :) We have truely enjoyed all the food that was brought to us. It was awesome!! Some of our family and friends have just stopped by to say hello and to give us well wishes. Thank you!! We are greatful to have each and everyone of you in our lives and we value our friendship with you all! Please allow us to return the favor to your family in the future.
We have been blessed to have a wonderful daughter in our home. She is a good baby. She is on the night shift so during the hours of 11:00pm to 2:00am or 2:30 to 7:00am she is awake. Yep! Nice isn't it. :) She has issues with her feet being uncovered, she doesn't like it at all! Other than that she is easy to take care of, she doesn't cry much. Dad is awesome always jumping in for his diaper duty or bottle feeding or having play time with her. I laugh because he is the overprotective father but isn't that how most dad's are with their daughters? Adrian has his good and bad day. This is a BIG adjustment for him also. He does take care of her, Adrian says it the best "Mommy where baby sister go"? He is wanting to make sure she is very close to us. Makes me smile knowing he is looking after her.
My last comment on counting my blessings is being very grateful to a woman who loved her daughter so much that she gave her a better life. It would have been easy to do as society does and raise Kayla all on her own, she could have done it. However, because she had a strong testimony of the gospel and love for the Savior she wanted the blessing of her daughter being sealed to a family for all time and eternity. She wanted a mother and a father who were righteously serving the Lord and would teach that daughter the same values that she believed. We love our birthmom and her family. They will always have a special place in our hearts. (Please don't be offended if we don't share detail stuff about our birthmom. It's not that we don't want to, it's that she is very special to us. This is Kayla's birthmom and we want to respect her. thanks so much)
Now, it's time for mom to take a little nap. :) Yea!! Thanks for listening!
