The Amazing Adrian

With our newest addition to the family also came many new challenges conserning the big brother. I don't think Ryan or I were prepared to what would take place. We went from having this perfect son who sat in time out for his 3 minutes, he would do things when we asked him to and there was no screaming or fighting with us. When Kayla arrived his alter ego appeared and his own opinion took over. We had to act quick to take control of who the parent were. I realized today that he has made some progress and we are proud of him. I wanted to give him big brownie points and do a little positive bragging on him. So here ya go:

POTTY TRAINING: Most of you know how hard it has been to get the strong willed child to potty train. I am giving you a report on how is progress is coming along. For the past 3 nights he has gone to the potty before going to bed. Yea Adrian!! Today so far he has had dry undies on. Each day he tries a little harder....making his mama proud!

SINGING: My little man LOVES to sing!! Really he does. Every night I rock him to sleep (ok not to sleep, and yes I know he is a big kid but he loves this time) and we sing....I love to see the temple, I hope they call me on a mission, I am a child of God, itsy bitsy spider and ABC's. He loves to sing them to his sister. One day I asked him to get off Kayla. He said "mommy, adrian sing to baby sister". Then he started singing "I love to see the temple". When Nonnie was here she taught him a toothbrush cleaning song. "Up like a rocket, down like the rain, back and forth like a choochoo train. Brush in the front, brush it in the back. Come on Adrian let's get that plaque". He loves this song and sings it all the time. His favorite music is Elvis and Bob Seger. He told me yesterday "Mom, Adrian loves rock n roll"! I laughed!

BABY SISTER: This is his nickname for Kayla. He loves to help out with her. He enjoys holding her. He is very protective of her, always asking about where his baby sister is at. He thinks it is his responsibility to burp Kayla. And when she burps he has to burp at least 3 times. The best see watching him kiss her feet or on the head.

GOSPEL: Two big things that come to mind. He has just started saying his prayers by himself. Oh heck, they are so funny and some times so wise. Every time it's prayer time, he has to say his first. The other thing that comes to mind is that he loves Temples. He talkes about the temple all the time. Maybe it's because he has been inside the boise temple and the twin falls temple. Then he has been to the rexburg temple too. For what ever reason, he loves to look at pictures of the temples.

This is pretty long but it makes me smile knowing what kind of man he is turning out to be. I hope we can continue to do a good job to both our children and raise them right. Good Job Adrian, Good Job!
