Trust in God, Then Go and Do

"You show your trust in Him when you listen with the intent to learn and repent and then you go and do whatever He asks."

This quote is from an articlecalled "Trust in God, Then Go and Do by Henry B. Eyring." (October 2010 Conference.)  I listened to this talk many times over the past 2 weeks.  My testimony has been strengthened in many ways by his words.  Let me share with you what has happened because I listened and then did what He asked of me.
While Conference was being watched on television I started to feel an impression to deactivate facebook.  I didn't know why or understand what would happen in the future.  I just knew I needed to do it.  I did not act to the promptings.  Then in the wee hours of the night, one evening I received those same promptings but they were much stronger.  Almost like have anxiety and not knowing why.  I woke up the next morning and logged into facebook one last time.  I looked around for awhile and then without telling anyone I deleted facebook forever.  I went through withdrawals of not having contact with my family.  Facebook was the only contact I would have with some family members and of course my friends back in the south.  I had to have faith that Heavenly Father knew what He was doing and that He had a plan for me.  Little did I know what was going to happen because of one little decision.
A few days after deleting facebook Ryan started getting phone calls on items he had been trying to sale for awhile.  Out of the blue he had guys showing up at the house buying items he was selling.  One day we were talking and I said "Do you realize that when I deleted facebook then you started selling your trucks, etc?"  I told him how I felt like Heavenly Father was blessing us because I listened to what He wanted me to do and I acted on the promptings.  We have been blessed to get rid of some extra vehicle's we had.
Sunday I missed church because of a knee injury.  I decided to listen to Henry B. Eyring's talk "Trust in God, Then Go and Do."  I was touched by his talked that I listened to it that day 3 times while making homemade pizza for the family.  Later that night Ryan and I read it together.  Here is part of his talk that really spoke to me the most:
"You show your trust in Him when you listen with the intent to learn and repent and then you go and do whatever He asks.  If you trust God enough to listen for His message in every sermon, song, and prayer in this conference, you will find it.  And if you then go and do what He would have you do, your power to trust Him will grow, and in time you will be overwhelmed with gratitude to find that He has come to trust you."
I explained to Ryan that now I wasn't doing facebook anymore I needed to turn the television off.  Especially in the evening.  I was feeling a desire to read scriptures, have personal prayer and read.  Reading has always been enjoyable to me but personal scripture reading and prayer have been difficult.  I wanted to listen to this prompting that I was getting and so I began every evening.  The television has been turned off and I have been working on my goal.  Even if I could only get a few scriptures in.  I listened, trusted, then went and did what He asked.
Again....he blessed us.  We were on a date and it was cute short.  Although I don't want to go into details, we had a heavy burden lifted off our shoulders this week.  Let's face it, who would have thought that by making a few changes he would bless us this much!!!  I am very grateful for listening to the promptings of Heavenly Father and in return thankful for His blessings.
Our trials are not over with.  These have been the hardest years than we have every had (other than dealing with my nephew).  I have faith that as long as we stay the course He will continue to bless our family.  I know that He loves us and hears our prayers.  Thank you Heavenly Father for your blessings.  I trusted God, the I went and did what he asked.
