bragging about my kids

i just wanted to take a minute and brag about my son. i wanted to share with you some of his latest adventures. adrian likes to do things himself. sometimes this is really good for the both of us. it helps me remember that this is my job to teach him these things so that he can be independent. there are other times when he wants to do it himself but that is just not possible. i hate those times because he can get very upset and then comes the "throwing himself on the floor, screaming, yelling and thrashing around" which results into time out, nap time or quiet time. lol. u know what i am talking about.

there are 3 things adrian really likes to do: laundry, putting dishes away and making his own toast with peanut butter (really it's jelly). yesterday with out even asking he went to the gargage to where our washer and dryer are. he took the clothes from the dryer and brought them into the house. i told him how thankful i was for his help in doing the laundry. :) Most mornings or mid mornings he has to have a piece of toast. he will open the bag, put the bread in the toaster, turn the toaster on, take the toast out then put jam on or butter himself and eat it. He doesn't want any help! :) he enjoys helping when it is time to cook. he knows if i say it is "hot" then he will go get a hot pad. he stirs the food in the pan on the stove. recently i have been dehydrating apples and adrian has been using the apple core and peeler, he gets to turn the knob around. :) prayers, yes he can say them all on his own. they remind me of my granny's prayers during the holidays. very looooong. he will say "amen" 2 or 3 times before he is truely done. and he will pray for everyone! last sunday in our church was fast and testimony meeting. on the first sunday of each month the congergation gets to share their testimony of Jesus Christ. you don't have to go up but if you want to you can. ryan went up and shared his feeling of adoption and the love of our Savior. adrian had gone with him. when they returned adrian said "your turn mom". i laughed and decided to go up because i wanted to set a good example for him. as i finished he said "adrian's turn". so i let him bear his testimony for the first time. smiling and felling good that my little boy is starting to sprout into a young man. these are the joys of motherhood.
