Christmas Eve

We decided to have a big fancy dinner tonight. I baked and cooked all day. The Taylor's and Charlotte (Ryan's mom) came over for a big turkey dinner. I forgot to take a picture of my beautifully cooked turkey. We had lots of food, being from the south I make to much food!!

Look at all this yummy food!! I just love having an island in my kitchen, you can break in line easily.

After dinner we read the nativity story in the scriptures. The twist was that I had finger puppets so we all played a part in the story. After that we read two books: GOD BLESS YOUR WAY (this story is about a poor man named Micah who travels with Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem) and THE MIRACLE OF THE WOODEN SHOES (this story is about a German tradition of wooden shoes being filled by St. Nicholas. In this story the father is sick and the family are very poor.....and the miracle takes place). We sang Christmas songs and shared out favorite Christmas memories. It was a nice night. We watched it snow off and on through out the night!
